Information on prizes and how to enter Mastering the Markets (ACN 671 639 704) competitions form part of these Terms and Conditions of Entry.
Who Can Enter
Entrants must be over 18 years of age, open to entrants worldwide. Employees and immediate family members of staff of Mastering the Markets are excluded from entering the competition.
Entry into the competition means that the entrant warrants that they meet the entry eligibility requirements and accept these terms and conditions. Mastering the Markets may need to verify the winners’ ages to confirm they meet the minimum age requirement.
How to Enter
Required Steps
- Like the competition post on any of Mastering the Markets’ social media channels: Facebook, Instagram or X (formerly Twitter).
- Then complete your details in the Christmas Giveaway Entry Form.
Optional
- Like / follow Mastering the Markets on social media (if you haven’t already): Facebook, Instagram or X (formerly Twitter).
- Like the competition post on any of these platforms.
- Share or repost the competition post on your social media and tag us.
All entries must be submitted before 11:59 PM AEST (UTC +10) on Monday 23 December 2024. Only one entry per person will be accepted. Entrants may be required to create an account on the above social media channels to participate.
Entry to the competition is free, but any costs associated with accessing the internet, using a computer, or other necessary equipment are the sole responsibility of the entrant.
The winner will be selected by random draw.
Mastering the Markets holds the right to disqualify any entrants due to improper or unlawful conduct, including infringing a third party’s intellectual property rights or a breach of the competition terms and conditions.
Mastering the Markets assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, corruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries. Mastering the Markets is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer networks and systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by the Mastering the Markets on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination of them, including any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Competition.
All entries become the property of Mastering the Markets. As such, Mastering the Markets is the owner of all copyright and other intellectual property in the responses.
Important Dates
To enter the competition, entrants must have liked the competition post on a Mastering the Markets social media channel and completed the Entry Form by 11:59 PM AEST Brisbane time (UTC +10) on the specified closing date.
Key dates of the competition are:
- The competition commences at 12:00 PM AEST (UTC +10) on Wednesday 4 December 2024.
- The competition closes at 11:59 PM AEST (UTC +10) on Monday 23 December 2024.
- The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve, Tuesday 24 December 2024.
Costs and Expenses
The competition includes the prize of:
Major Prize
- Enrolment in the MtM101 Dow Theory Principles with Technical Analysis Foundations 10 Week Course in February 2025 valued at AUD $3,360 (incl. GST + processing fees).
The winner is responsible for any and all other expenses incurred in entering the competition. You will not be reimbursed regardless of whether or not you win the competition. Mastering the Markets accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize (or part thereof).
The winner is advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and may wish to seek independent financial advice prior to the acceptance of the prize.
Privacy
Mastering the Markets will comply with the Australian Privacy Policy and our Privacy Policy.
Each entrant’s personal information is collected to enable Mastering the Markets to administer and promote this Competition and the winners. The personal information of winners may be provided to third parties who are assisting Mastering the Markets, including prize suppliers, deliverers and authorities that regulate competitions. Entrants who fail to provide all requested personal information, may be determined by Mastering the Markets, at its sole discretion to be ineligible to win a prize. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Mastering the Markets discretion. Failure by the Mastering the Markets to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
Beyond this, we may use your data for the following purposes:
- Marketing and Promotions: We may use your contact details to inform you about future competitions, promotions, and events related to trading and financial education offered by Mastering the Markets. You can opt out of receiving such communications at any time.
- Improving Our Services: Your feedback and responses may be analysed to improve our competition format, course offerings, and overall service quality. This helps us tailor our programs to better meet the needs of our audience.
- Research and Analysis: Aggregated and anonymized data may be used for research and analysis purposes to understand trends and preferences within the trading community. This information helps us enhance our offerings and develop new initiatives.
Selection and Notification
The prize winner will be randomly selected after the closing date. The winner will be selected on Tuesday 24 December 2024 and be personally notified by email and/or phone on that day. The winner may be announced on the Mastering the Markets website and/or social media channels. Third parties who are assisting Mastering the Markets may also announce the winners on their website and/or social media channels also.
Mastering the Markets will make every reasonable effort to locate and notify the winners. The judges’ decision is final and binding. As such, no correspondence will be entered into.
Subject to the unclaimed prize draw clause, if for any reason the winners do not claim the prize or an element of the prize by the time stipulated by Mastering the Markets, then the prize or that element of the prize will be redrawn.
The prize winners agrees to the use of their name for publicity and competition purposes, without compensation.
Prize Requirements and General Conditions
The prize will be delivered as follows:
Major Prize
- Enrolment in the MtM101 Dow Theory Principles with Technical Analysis Foundations 10 Week Course in February 2025 valued at AUD $3,360 (incl. GST + processing fees).
The prize is not transferable and not redeemable for cash. The winner cannot transfer a prize to another person. Further, the winner cannot request cash in exchange for the prize.
The prize is subject to conditions imposed by third party suppliers or organisers. The winner may need to supply identification upon collection of the prize.
If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, Mastering the Markets reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value. If the winner cannot accept the substitution, they forfeit the prize.
Limitation of Liability
Mastering the Markets shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. Mastering the Markets will not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages or losses, including any tax implications.
As a condition of accepting the prize, the winner must sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by Mastering the Markets and/or prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.
Unclaimed Prizes
If the prize is unclaimed within 5 days of notifying the winner, the prize will be forfeited and a redraw will occur.
Technical Issues
If for any reason the competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures e.g. incomplete submissions due to website downtime or any other causes beyond the control of Mastering the Markets, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this competition, Mastering the Markets reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
Other Issues
In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes, pandemics; Mastering the Markets may in its absolute discretion cancel the course and recommence it from the start on the same conditions at a later date.
