Specialist Educator
Professional Background
Craig “Lenny” Stanford has been actively involved in the cryptocurrency ecosystem since 2013, when he first began running a home Bitcoin mining rig and purchasing BTC through early peer-to-peer marketplaces such as LocalBitcoins. His early experiences included losing his entire holdings during the Mt. Gox collapse in 2014 — a formative event that shaped his disciplined approach to risk management, exchange exposure, and self-custody.
Since those early days, Lenny has navigated every major phase of the crypto market’s evolution — from the early infrastructure years through the 2017 ICO boom, the rise of decentralised finance, NFTs, and the more recent shift toward institutional participation and programmable financial systems. His experience spans a wide range of on-chain ecosystems, including early DeFi projects, NFT launches, and the integration of digital assets within structures such as crypto-integrated SMSFs.
At Mastering the Markets, Lenny focuses on helping investors and traders develop a pragmatic, experience-based understanding of the digital asset space — bridging the gap between market hype and real technological and economic utility.
Teaching Approach
Lenny approaches the crypto markets from a grounded, real-world perspective shaped by more than a decade of experience across multiple market cycles. His sessions focus on helping members understand what is actually driving market behaviour beneath the headlines — distinguishing long-term structural developments from short-term speculation.
He combines on-chain data, fundamental analysis, and market psychology to provide a balanced view of the crypto ecosystem, while also addressing practical topics such as risk management, self-custody, and exchange exposure. His goal is to help members build clarity, confidence, and a disciplined framework for navigating digital asset markets responsibly.
