Scholarship Program Competition Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Entry Terms”) govern the Scholarship Program Competitions (“Competition”, “Scholarship”) offered by Mastering the Markets Pty Ltd ACN 671 639 704 (“we”, “us”, “our”, “Mastering the Markets”) of 50 Clarence Street, Sydney NSW 2000.

Who can Enter

Entrants must be at least 18 years of age and the Competition is open to entrants worldwide. Employees and the immediate family members of Mastering the Markets and Moomoo AU are excluded from entering the Competition.

By entering the Competition, the entrant warrants that they are at least 18 years of age and accept and agree to these Entry Terms. Mastering the Markets reserves the right  to verify the age of any Scholarship winners to confirm they meet the minimum age requirement.

How to Enter

Enter by completing and submitting the form on the Scholarship Program webpage including answering the following question in 1250 characters or less:

Entries must be submitted before 11:59 PM AEST (UTC +10) on the Closing Date to be eligible. Only one entry per person will be accepted and we reserve the right to disqualify anyone who submits multiple entries.

Mastering the Markets holds the right to disqualify any entrants due to improper or unlawful conduct, including infringing a third party’s intellectual property rights or a breach of these Entry Terms.

Important Dates

To enter the Competition, entrants must answer all Competition questions and submit the form by 11:59 PM AEST Brisbane time (UTC +10) on the Closing Date.

Key dates of the competition are:

  • The Competition commences at 12:00 PM AEST (UTC +10) on Monday 24 March 2025 (“Commencement Date”);
  • The Competition closes at 11:59 PM AEST (UTC +10) on Monday 31 March 2025 (“Closing Date”);
  • The judges will select the winners at 12:00 PM AEST (UTC +10) on Wednesday 2 April 2025 (“Judgement Date”); and
  • The winner will be announced and contacted on Friday 4 April 2025 (“Notice Date”).

Any entries received before the Commencement Date or after the Closing Date will not be accepted.

Selection and Notification of Winning Entries

Winning entries will be selected by a panel of three (3) judges on the Judgement Date and will be selected based on the creativity of the entries submitted. Entries will be judged based on the entrant’s description of the impact the scholarship will have on the entrant.

The winners will be personally notified by email and/or phone on the Notice Date. The winners may be announced and their names published on the websites and/or social media channels of both Mastering the Markets and third parties who are assisting Mastering the Markets. All prize winners agree to the use and publication of their name for publicity and Competition purposes without compensation.

Mastering the Markets will make every reasonable effort to locate and notify the winners. The judges’ decision is final and binding, and no dispute of the results will be considered.

If for any reason a winner does not respond to our attempts to notify them within two (2) days of the Notice Date, then the prize will be deemed as unclaimed and forfeited by the winner and will be awarded to the next best entry as determined by the judges.

Prizes

First Prize

The first prize will be delivered as follows:

  • Complimentary enrolment in the MtM101: Dow Theory and Technical Analysis Foundations 10 Week Course (“Scholarship Course”), valued at AUD $3,360 (incl. GST + fees). The Scholarship Course operates from Monday 28 April 2025 and finishes on Friday 4 July 2025.
  • AUD $3,000 funding into the winner’s Moomoo AU trading account. If the winner does not have a Moomoo AU trading account, they can open an account on the Moomoo AU website here: https://start.moomoo.com/01TYwQ. The winner must complete the Scholarship Course and pass all assessments to receive the funded Moomoo AU account.

Second Prize

The second prize will be delivered as follows:

All prizes are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.

The eligibility of winners to accept a prize is conditional on their acknowledgement that the Scholarship Course is a live, scheduled program, is not designed for self-paced or independent learning, and that they warrant they will be available to complete the relevant Scholarship Course as scheduled (the details of which can be found on our Website here: https://masteringthemarkets.com/mtm101/.

The winners further acknowledge and agree that by accepting complimentary enrolment in a Scholarship Course, they agree to be bound by our Website and Courses Terms & Conditions.

The prizes are subject to conditions imposed by third party suppliers or organisers. The winners may need to supply identification upon collection of the prize.

If any prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, Mastering the Markets reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value. If the winners cannot accept the substitution, they forfeit the prize and the prize will be awarded to the next best entry as chosen by the judges.

As a condition of accepting the prize, the winners must sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by Mastering the Markets and/or prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.

Costs and Expenses

Entry into the Competition is free, but any costs associated with accessing the internet, using a computer or other necessary equipment, or otherwise required for entry are the sole responsibility of the entrant.

The winners are responsible for any and all other expenses incurred in entering or winning the competition (if any). You will not be reimbursed regardless of whether or not you win the competition. Mastering the Markets accepts no responsibility or liability for any variation in the value of the prize (or part thereof).

Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and may wish to seek independent financial advice prior to accepting the prize.

Upon submission, all entries become the property of Mastering the Markets and the entrant relinquishes all copyright and other intellectual property rights in the entry response in favour of Mastering the Markets.

Privacy

Mastering the Markets will comply with the Australian Privacy Principles and our Privacy Policy.

Each entrant’s personal information is collected to enable Mastering the Markets to administer and promote this Competition and the winners. The personal  information of winners may be provided to third parties who are assisting Mastering the Markets, including prize suppliers, deliverers and authorities that regulate competitions.

Entrants who fail to provide all requested personal information may be determined, by Mastering the Markets at our sole discretion, to be ineligible to win a prize. Errors and omissions to personal information may be accepted at our sole discretion. Failure by Mastering the Markets to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

By entering the Competition, you agree that we may use your personal information for the reasons disclosed in our Privacy Policy, including but not limited to the following purposes:

  • Marketing and Promotions: We may use your contact details to inform you about future competitions, promotions, and events related to trading and financial education offered by Mastering the Markets. You can opt out of receiving such communications at any time.
  • Improving Our Services: Your feedback and responses may be analysed to improve our competition format, course offerings, and overall service quality. This helps us tailor our programs to better meet the needs of our audience.
  • Research and Analysis: Aggregated and anonymized data may be used for research and analysis purposes to understand trends and preferences within the trading community. This information helps us enhance our offerings and develop new initiatives.

Limitation of Liability

Mastering the Markets shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. Mastering the Markets will not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages or losses, including any tax implications.

Mastering the Markets assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, corruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries.

Mastering the Markets is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer networks and systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by the Mastering the Markets on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination of them, including any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Competition.

Technical Issues

If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures e.g. incomplete submissions due to website downtime or any other causes beyond the control of Mastering the Markets, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity, or proper conduct of this Competition, Mastering the Markets reserves the right in our sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Competition.

Other Issues

In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result of the Competition or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes, acts of terrorism, war, and pandemics; Mastering the Markets may, at our absolute discretion, cancel the Competition and/or the Scholarship Course and may or may not recommence it from the start on the same Entry Terms at a later date.
