Lead Educator
CEWA – Level 1
CFTe – Level 1
Professional Background
Ben Northcote started trading and investing at 14, an early start that shaped a genuine, lifelong interest in how markets move. That interest has since developed into formal expertise, with Ben holding both a Certified Elliott Wave Analyst (CEWA Level 1) and Certified Financial Technician (CFTe Level 1) qualification, while completing a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (Banking).
As an active trader across equities, commodities and cryptocurrencies, Ben brings direct market experience into the classroom. His specialisation lies in technical market analysis, with a strong focus on Elliott Wave Theory, trend structure, market cycles, risk management and sentiment dynamics, giving students a well-rounded framework for reading price action.
At MtM, Ben plays a key role in course delivery, live market commentary and student engagement, supporting learners at every stage of their trading journey. He’s known for connecting technical concepts directly to execution and risk management, helping students understand how professional traders actually think and operate.
Teaching Approach
Ben believes financial education is essential, particularly given the rising cost of living young people face when they start out in markets. His approach is practical, methodical and execution-focused, built around helping students understand structure, probability and risk rather than prediction or emotion.
Ben’s classroom style draws heavily on live, real-time market examples, reinforcing lessons with the same conditions students will trade in themselves. His goal is to develop independent, disciplined and resilient market participants equipped for long-term success, capable of reading price action objectively and aligning decisions with structure rather than guesswork.
