Scholarship Program Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Entry Terms”) govern the Mastering the Markets Scholarship Program (“Scholarship Program”) and apply to all scholarship applications submitted to Mastering the Markets Pty Ltd ACN 671 639 704 (“we”, “us”, “our” or “Mastering the Markets”).

Who can Enter

Entrants must be at least 18 years of age and the Scholarship Program is open to entrants worldwide. Employees and the immediate family members of Mastering the Markets are excluded from entering the Scholarship Program.

By entering the Scholarship Program, the entrant warrants that they are at least 18 years of age and accept and agree to these Entry Terms. Mastering the Markets reserves the right to verify the age of any successful applicant to confirm they meet the minimum age requirement.

How to Enter

To enter the Scholarship Program, entrants must complete and submit the application form available on the Scholarship Program webpage, including answering the following question in 1,250 characters or fewer:

Entries must be submitted before 12:00pm AEST (UTC +10) on the Closing Date to be eligible. Only one entry per person will be accepted and we reserve the right to disqualify anyone who submits multiple entries.

Mastering the Markets reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who engages in improper or unlawful conduct, including infringing a third party’s intellectual property rights or breaching these Entry Terms.

Important Dates

The dates applicable to each Scholarship Program, including the application period, notification dates and scholarship announcement date, will be published on the Scholarship Program webpage for each scholarship round.

Applications received before the published opening date or after the published closing date will not be accepted.

Selection and Notification of Scholarship Recipients

Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a panel of Mastering the Markets educators and team members.

Applications will be assessed based on the applicant’s response, demonstrated commitment and the impact the scholarship would have on achieving their financial education goals.

Successful applicants will be contacted by phone and/or email within the timeframe published on the Scholarship Program webpage for the relevant scholarship round.

Mastering the Markets will make every reasonable effort to contact successful applicants. If a successful applicant cannot be contacted after reasonable attempts, Mastering the Markets reserves the right to award the scholarship to another applicant in accordance with these Entry Terms. The panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.

If a successful applicant does not respond within 48 hours of being contacted or declines the scholarship, Mastering the Markets reserves the right to award the scholarship to another applicant.

Scholarships Available

The number, type and value of scholarships offered may vary between scholarship rounds.

The scholarships available for each Scholarship round, including the course, scholarship value and number of scholarships available, will be published on the Scholarship Program webpage for that scholarship round.

All scholarships are subject to these Entry Terms.

Scholarship Conditions

Scholarships are:

  • non-transferable;
  • not redeemable for cash;
  • unable to be exchanged for any other Mastering the Markets product or service; and
  • unable to be deferred to another course intake unless approved in writing by Mastering the Markets.

Scholarship recipients acknowledge that the Mastering the Markets course is a live, scheduled education program and is not designed for self-paced learning.

By accepting a scholarship, recipients confirm they are available to participate in the scheduled course and agree to be bound by the Mastering the Markets Website and Course Terms & Conditions.

If a successful applicant declines a scholarship, fails to respond within 48 hours or is otherwise unable to accept the scholarship, Mastering the Markets reserves the right to award the scholarship to another applicant.

Mastering the Markets reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship if an applicant is found to have provided false or misleading information during the application process or otherwise breaches these Terms and Conditions.

Costs and Expenses

Entry into the Scholarship Program is free. Any costs associated with accessing the internet, using a computer or other equipment required to submit an application remain the responsibility of the entrant.

Scholarship recipients are responsible for any costs associated with participating in the course that are not expressly included as part of the scholarship.

Scholarship recipients should seek independent taxation advice regarding any taxation implications associated with accepting a scholarship.

Upon submission, all entries become the property of Mastering the Markets and the entrant relinquishes all copyright and other intellectual property rights in the entry response in favour of Mastering the Markets.

Privacy

Mastering the Markets will comply with the Australian Privacy Principles and our Privacy Policy.

Each entrant’s personal information is collected to enable Mastering the Markets to administer and promote this Scholarship Program and its successful applicants. The personal information of successful applicants may be provided to third parties assisting Mastering the Markets where reasonably required to administer the Scholarship Program.

Entrants who fail to provide all requested personal information may, at the sole discretion of Mastering the Markets, be deemed ineligible to receive a scholarship. Errors and omissions to personal information may be accepted at our sole discretion. Failure by Mastering the Markets to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

By entering the Scholarship Program, you agree that we may use your personal information for the reasons disclosed in our Privacy Policy, including but not limited to the following purposes:

  • Marketing and Promotions: We may use your contact details to inform you about future scholarship programs, promotions, and events related to trading and financial education offered by Mastering the Markets. You can opt out of receiving such communications at any time.
  • Improving Our Services: Your feedback and responses may be analysed to improve our Scholarship Program, course offerings, and overall service quality. This helps us tailor our programs to better meet the needs of our audience.
  • Research and Analysis: Aggregated and anonymized data may be used for research and analysis purposes to understand trends and preferences within the trading community. This information helps us enhance our offerings and develop new initiatives.

Limitation of Liability

Mastering the Markets shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Scholarship Program or any scholarship awarded except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. Mastering the Markets will not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages or losses, including any tax implications.

Mastering the Markets assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, corruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries.

Mastering the Markets is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer networks and systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by the Mastering the Markets on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination of them, including any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials associated with this Scholarship Program.

Technical Issues

If, for any reason, the Scholarship Program is not capable of running as planned, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of Mastering the Markets, Mastering the Markets reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the application process or to cancel, suspend, modify or terminate the Scholarship Program.

Other Issues

If any event beyond the reasonable control of Mastering the Markets affects the operation of the Scholarship Program, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, power failures, civil unrest, acts of terrorism, war or government restrictions, Mastering the Markets reserves the right to cancel, postpone, amend or recommence the Scholarship Program or any associated scholarship courses at its sole discretion.
